Since its inception, the ComSource technical staff was the most highly trained and most capable team in the State of Michigan. To maintain this goal of excellence, each technician is required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of technical training a year. In addition to the 40 hour a year requirement, the technicians also train for specific projects. One example is when a customer switched their entire microwave system to an alternate vendor. As the service provider for this system, ComSource required the technical team to attend manufacturer direct factory training for the new product. The ComSource goal is to continue to be the top service provider for Motorola Systems in the area. This is accomplished through intensive training, streamlined processes, and customer sensitivity. The result is reduced downtime and an effective and efficient repair for our valued customers.
ComSource, Inc. currently employs 10 top notch technicians with a cumulative experience of 225 years in the two-way radio industry. The technicians work primarily in the field solving issues for our customers, installing new equipment, surveying equipment in its operating environment and analyzing its performance to prevent problems before they impact critical communications. Our field Service vans are outfitted with the latest in test equipment from Motorola and the technicians have been fully trained in the effective use of this state of the art equipment for speedy diagnosis and repair. Field technicians carry an impressive assortment of factory parts and assemblies in order to complete a rapid high quality repair of critical communications subsystems.
In the event that a field repair is impractical, equipment will be brought in to our 8000 square foot facility in Rochester Hills. This facility is equipped with specialized test fixtures, an RF isolated screen room, a hot air bonder for replacement of surface mount components, and over $100,000 in replacement parts and assemblies. Two of our technicians work primarily in the facility providing repair service for mail in and drive in customers and backup for our field technicians. There is a 4 car installation and service bay for those customers that wish to drive in for a quick repair, or to have an installation done. Technicians are on duty for drive-in service during our regular business hours and no appointment is necessary.
